As a high-level global science competition for high school students, ISEF attracts about 7 million participants each year from around the world. This year, only 1,750 finalists from 63 countries and regions were selected, representing less than 0.03% of the total applicants. Beijing had a total of 9 students from different schools selected this year. Gao Chenge, as a member of our school's Jinpeng Science and Technology Team, completed research on the topic "Ganoderma Induces the Apoptosis of Cancer Cells" in the laboratory of the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences under the guidance of Tao Ning. In December 2021, she emerged as an outstanding student in the National Talent Program Forum (Biology) and was selected for the ISEF Winter Camp. She successfully qualified for the 72nd ISEF global finals through selection during the camp in January 2022. From February to May 2022, Gao Chenge made full preparations for the competition, including supplementing experiments, submitting various materials for the competition, and arranging online displays.
